Boarding kennels
Kennels in Oxfordshire: A member has used, and recommends, Park Kennels at Andersey Farm Ltd, Grove Park Drive, Lockinge, OX12 8SG. Tel. 01235 772043. Website: Park Kennels. [added in early 2012]
Dog friendly holidays
Self-catering cottages in Cornwall: A member stayed at Rose Cottage. Recommended as comfortable, luxurious, warm (in the winter), and really well equipped, with every utensil you could wish for. A walk through a field led to the coastal path, with miles of sandy beaches at Carbis Bay. Carbis Bay is only a few miles from St Ives, with a little train going to St Ives. Website: Gonwin Manor Cottages. [added in early 2012]
Self-catering cottage near Dunster / Minehead: Very good location for Exmoor and North Somerset / Devon Coast. Lots of dog walks. There are a lot of narrow single track roads in the area. Website: Burrow Farm on Exmoor. [added in early 2012]
Dog walkers
SR Dog Walking Services in Oxford: A member has used this service to walk their five year old dog, two to three days a week, over for the last 4 years. Stuart is reliable and good with dogs, walking them in a group and careful to integrate new dogs safely. He also does overnight and weekend stayovers, which they have also used. Stuart can be contacted on: 07790 461663. [added in early 2012]
Good walks
Cherwell District Council web site for Cherwell valley walks / Heyfords circular walk. Good printable PDF of routes, marking land marks and pubs! A member reports that the walks he has tried have been dog friendly, and there have been gates through fences. Information on walks in other areas of North Oxfordshire are available.
